Although they do not go through their best moments, it is clear that most Android manufacturers, both Chinese and American, have always liked to compare their smartphones with the iPhone . Despite who it weighs Apple seems to remain the enemy to beat by most companies who take advantage, as soon as they can, the weaknesses of their phones to extol the characteristics of their own.

The last chapter of this war is between Google Pixel 3 and iPhone XS . A few hours ago the head of marketing of Google Marvin Chow shared on Twitter a comparison between the night mode of Google Pixel 3 and a "Phone X" on the left. It is not necessary to think too much about what smartphone the executive refers to. Even less when the small text housed in the lower part of the photograph on the left tells us that this "Phone X" is actually the iPhone XS .

The scene shows a model standing in front of a wet street full of neon lights, a perfect shot to make shine, and never better said, the night mode of mobile cameras. As can be seen in the images, Google  Pixel 3 managed to generate a brighter global scene, clearly showing the face of the woman, her clothes and other elements both of her and of the buildings that surround her. Even the clouds can be seen in the night sky while the capture of the iPhone prevents seeing the model clearly, as well as a lot of details.

So good or so bad?

The night mode of Google Pixel 3 follows the same strategy as similar technologies seen in other mobile phones, such as Huawei. Its operation consists in performing a  burst of simultaneous shots to avoid motion blur and then mix them together to achieve a bright image even in low light conditions. As a result, we also see that some areas of the image are better portrayed in the iPhone XS , such as the rear lights of the back that, in the photo of Google Pixel 3, appear burned.

Even with everything, it is more than evident that the photograph made with the camera of Google Pixel 3 is much higher than that made with the iPhone XS. All this with so much that the photographer has not fallen into the trap of "dirty play" and has compensated the exposure on Apple's smartphone to offer a result far from reality.
